DETAILS: Buckle the strait-jacket and charge up the electroshocks because you are about to be committed to the Asylum at Ghost Ship 2014. The Bay Area’s most beloved Halloween event is back for its 7th year at the gargantuan Pier 70, in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco. For the past six years Ghost Ship Halloween has dropped jaws and thrilled thousands with unparalleled original art installations schemed and built from scratch from recyclable materials and enjoyed only at Ghost Ship. But for the first time ever, the fun will run over two nights. With past events boasting a Victorian-era Ghost Ship, a 1930’s cruise ship, an alien space craft hovering over a zombie ghost town, and a massive nuclear submarine, the “Make Big Art” team’s plans for Ghost Ship 2014 are more daring than ever. Along with their megalomaniacal schemes, Ghost Ship will again feature original installations by the leaders of the Bay Area’s dynamic large-scale production art community, and the world’s most exciting art-cars. The soundscape of Ghost Ship will be electrified by multiple stages hosted by top DJ crews featuring more than 70 of the Bay Area’s finest DJ’s/ Also for the first time ever, Ghost Ship will feature headline DJ sets by two legendary dance music producers, JAMES LAVELLE (UNKLE) on Friday and DJ AFRIKA BAMBAATAA on Saturday. And as always, Ghost Ship’s attendees provide the final touch of artwork with original costume culture that annually raises the bar on spectacle.
Ghost Ship Musical talent for 2014 will include: James Lavelle (UNKLE), DJ Afrika Bambaataa plus dozens of DJs from the following crews: Space Cowboys, DISTRIKT, Brass Tax, Janky Barge, Silent Frisco, M.O.M, Afrolicious, Sound Pieces, Strategik, and many more!
Large scale art installations previously seen on the playa by local artists: Peter Hudson, Michael Christian, Dust City Diner and many more TBA
Tickets for Asylum will go on sale at www.ghostshiphalloween.com in two separate releases:
• Wednesday, September 10: Discount Two Night Tickets on sale at Noon PDT
• Wednesday, September 17: Single Day Tickets Released & Full DJ Lineup revealed.
Prices will go up as tiers of tickets sell out, so we encourage you to get your tickets well in advance, and start planning your costumes now.
Stay tuned for future announcements regarding our art participants and music lineup at www.ghostshiphalloween.com, www.facebook.com/ghostshiphalloween, www.spacecowboys.org and www.sunsetpromotions.com.

Die Mommy Die at New Conservatory Center SF Oct. 3 - Nov. 2, 2014

Die Mommie Die!

Oct. 3 - Nov. 2, 2014

Part Greek tragedy, part Hollywood kitsch - this is Charles Busch at his best! The time is the 1960’s and ex-pop singer Angela Arden is trapped in a corrosive marriage with her film producer husband. In her attempt to find happiness with her young lover, Angela murders her husband, leaving their children to avenge his death. The “very nearly illegally entertaining” (LA Times) production stars J. Conrad Frank, creator of San Francisco's popular drag cabaret sensation Katya Smirnoff-Skyy, at the title Mommie character.

Join us on Thursday nights pre-show for Happy Hour is a Drag - a complimentary event for ticket holders! Learn more. Also, dress up for our Halloween show on Oct 31 and get a FREE specialty show cocktail!
